Safe Haven prepares for twice a week meetings at Unstone Grange
A message from Pat Hopkinson (Safe Haven Co-ordinator):
We now come to the end of our five years at the Peel Centre in Dronfield.
We started small, with one awareness class and one room. It is with great pleasure that I have seen Safe Haven grow into a thriving spiritual community with many friends.
I would like to thank you all for your support over the last five years.
Without you there would be no Safe Haven!
The building has served us well, but I have felt for a while that we needed to move on, and have been searching for the place that spirit told me was ‘out there’ waiting for us.
The really good news is that thanks to Shelly, I have finally found it!!!!!!!!!
We will be re-locating to UNSTONE GRANGE in January 2010.
It is only about a mile from the Peel Centre so that should be convenient to everyone, I hope!
This new building, that we have been lucky enough to rent, has endless possibilities.
There are plenty of rooms for groups, a large centrally heated barn holding up to 100 people for special evenings, and 10 bedrooms that can accommodate up to 36 students. There are also the beautiful grounds that can also be used for outdoor events in the summer.
With my contacts on the Spiritualists’ National Union, I hope that we will all be able to branch out and use all these facilities when they are available.
I have already some extra Tutors ‘in waiting’ who have not been able to come on Tuesdays, namely Carolyn Allsopp and Pearl Wilson. Daren Brittain has also already come forward with offers of
week-end workshops as well as specials and I am sure that Mark Brandist will do the same, after recuperating from his forthcoming operation. I hope to get many more Tutors on board for you, to give you a variety of teaching methods and subjects. Naturally this will take a little time to organise, so please continue to give us your support, so that we can all glean the benefits of this wonderful opportunity.
In view of this, I have decided to try opening TWO nights each week to see if it is financially viable. Groups will run as normal on Tuesdays, with our Liz and Ian Doherty and on Wednesdays there will be the healing group for all new people where they can learn as well as have healing themselves. Carolyn and Pearl can also attend on Wednesday evenings for general groups.
I know that the limit of Tuesday evenings only at the Peel Centre, have to some extent made things much harder. Specials, which are necessary to keep the usual admission price down to £5 for you, have disrupted the flow of the groups and also people have wanted to attend healing as well as a learning group. These can all now be held on different nights to enable all this to be possible.
This is a new beginning for us and is obviously the wish of The Spirit World, so please support us and invite as many people as you know who are supportive of our beliefs.
I wish you all a very good holiday and hope to see you on Tuesday 5th January and/or Wednesday 6th January at our new venue. THIS IS AN EXCITING TIME FOR SAFE HAVEN.

Ian Doherty DSNU joins the Safe Haven team.
We are very pleased and
honoured to have Ian Doherty DSNU (Diploma awarded from the Spiritualists'
National Union) as a teacher onboard with us at Safe Haven
this year.
Some of you will already have met Ian when he has been to Safe Haven
in the past with his Aura camera and Demonstrations of Mediumship.
Ian's mediumship ability has been in evidence since his early childhood;
he remembers clearly people sat on the end of his bed, only to disappear
before his very eyes. Ian has been working professionally for over 12
years and continues to bring warmth and humour to the evidential proof
he provides that life continues on after physical death. He is the
author of '
Teachings from William', a book made possible through
the union of two minds during trance mediumship.
Specialising in the aura, Ian is also a psychic artist and works with
the media of pastels onto paper and specialist aura photography and
camera work. The paranormal has always been of interest to Ian also and,
as such, he has taken part in over 500 investigations into the
paranormal over a 6 year period. An experience that has allowed Ian to
gather extensive data on ghosts and spirits from over 60 locations
across the United Kingdom.
Having demonstrated at many Spiritualist
churches, community centres and halls, Ian Doherty has utilised his vast
experience in order to teach and guide upcoming mediums and it never
ceases to bring enjoyment to Ian in seeing his students blossom.
