The
idea behind Safe Haven was brought about in April 2005 by a core of individuals
who wanted a place for people to meditate and develop their spiritual
awareness in a warm and friendly environment. Eventually, Hasland Village Hall in Chesterfield was booked from the end of August
2005 to provide the venue for our Thursday evening meetings. Our first
evening proved a great success with over 40 individuals supporting us
and throughout the following year, we recorded over 120 students using
the venue on a 'drop-in, drop-out' basis. Not that long into our first
year, we were asked if we could provide a similar venture to the
residents of Dronfield and nearby city of Sheffield and it was agreed
that we would put on a 10-week basic awareness course Tuesday evenings
at our newly found venue, The Peel Centre, Dronfield which again proved a great success. It
was decided thereafter that we would provide a structured timetable to
our courses run on Tuesdays and keep our Thursday group running on an
ad-hoc basis to allow our students flexibility in when they attended.
Throughout our first year, we ran courses in meditation, basic spiritual
and psychic awareness, aura & colour reading, basic and advanced
mediumship & healer training. We were also proud to host the occasional
talks and demonstrations from both international and national speakers.

Following an academic year format, Safe Haven
broke up for summer and returned in September. For our
second year, we decided not to use Hasland Village Hall again, due to the
fact that the acoustics made it
difficult for everyone to hear what was being said. As a consequence, The Peel Centre in Dronfield was our better option and
we elected to continue our structured educational meetings just on
a Tuesday evening.

Five years on and Safe Haven has gone from
strength to strength. So much so that the Peel Centre has been outgrown.
Therefore, after much searching and consultation with spirit, Safe Haven
has eventually found it's new location at
Unstone Grange, Unstone,
Derbyshire. Also, for 2010, Safe Haven will again open it's doors twice
a week - it's regular Tuesday evenings AND now Wednesday evenings
allowing expansion of our healing group, development & awareness classes
and special demonstrations. The future is set to look exciting for Safe
Haven, just have a look at our
education programme
if you want to be a part of it. You'll always be welcome.
